Shelby Foote's Shiloh Wednesday-Thursday July 2-3, 2008, Saturday July 5, 2008 at 8pm and Sunday July 6, 2008 at 7:30pm.
Bursting onto the literary scene in the 1940's with novels that praised and criticized his southern homeland, Foote caughy the eye of leading literary figures. He became a cultural icon after his role in Ken Burns' "The Civil War" on PBS. Foote's novel, "Shiloh," which through seven monologues of Southern and Northern Soldiers, provides as account from many views of this two-day, April 1862, Battle of Shiloh. It was published in 1952 on the 90th anniversary of the battle. Join Civil War Enthusiasts as they revist the Battle of Shiloh from many viewpoints in an entertaining and informative evening with the music of the Civil War. The Show is directed by Peter Holland.
