Our Mission

The purpose of the Surry Arts Council is to provide opportunities for all the people of our community to experience high-quality performances and instruction in the performing and visual arts - while ensuring its continuity through financially responsible leadership.

The arts will be a significant part of the life of our community.

As one of the premiere Arts Councils in the United States, Surry Arts touches so many lives through so many different programs. Providing quality entertainment, education, and enrichment through performing arts, the Surry Arts Council goes far beyond the walls of The Andy Griffith Playhouse. They provide the northwest area of North Carolina with the opportunity to be a part of the arts with such programs as:
