THE GIN GAME – November 6th, 7th & 8th
The Surry Arts Players present The Gin Game on November 6th, 7th and 8th at the Andy Griffith Playhouse (218 Rockford St., Mount Airy). This two-person, two-act play is an intriguing exploration of friendly (and not-so-friendly) competition.
Weller Martin and Fonsia Dorsey, two recent arrivals at Bentley Home for the Aged, strike up an acquaintance on visitor’s day. Weller teaches Fonsia how to play gin, a game at which he considers himself to be an expert. Fonsia catches on very quickly, and with unexpected consequences. “The Gin Game”, D.L. Coburn’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, depicts two people at the end of their rope. Directed by Jane Riley and starring Tom Mascenik and Terri Ingalls, The Gin Game will be performed on Friday, November 6th and Saturday, November 7th at 7:30 pm, and on Sunday, November 8th at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $10.
Due to strong language, this play is not recommended for people under 16 years of age. For more information please contact the Surry Arts Council at (336) 786-7998 or visit www.surryarts.org.
