Mount Airy is only 14 miles south of the Blue Ridge Parkway, America’s most visited National park. The Blue Ridge Parkway connects the Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Visitors enjoy the slow-paced and relaxing drive along 469 miles through the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Parkway can be accessed at Fancy Gap at U.S. 77.
